Welcome to Gneiss!
Pronounced 'Nice' (The G is silent)
Gneiss was founded in 2013 as a passion project between two friends, and has grown to become a destination for all those who seek out unique beers in a unique place. Head Brewer and Co-Founder Dustin Johnson is inspired to create balanced beers that pay respect to the rich German tradition of brewing and layer them with the nuance and eccentricity of modern brewing. Co-Founder and Marketing/Tasting Room manager Tim Bissell has a penchant for puns and pints, and by putting their heads together, Gneiss was born. We look to our German heritage, our love of science and our Maine way of living to bring you truly 'rock-able' beers!
Gneiss is located in the foothills of the White Mountains, deep in the woods of rural Limerick, ME. We welcome you to visit us during our tasting room hours and experience the myriad flavors we create here and to enjoy the bucolic views of our woodland brewery.
You can find Gneiss beer in Maine and Massachusetts in select bars, restaurants and retail shops. Accounts listed on this map are currently or have recently carried Gneiss products. We reccommend calling ahead to see if/what Gneiss beer is currently available.
*Willie's Wurstwagen - our new resident Sausage Cart - will be open at the brewery serving delicious Hot Dogs, Sausages, Brats and more every* Friday and Saturday (except for 8/25) in August. Willie's Wurstwagen is CASH ONLY, and we have no ATM on site, so plan ahead!
